About Men's Ministry
King Solomon said it best in Proverbs 27:17; "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
In today’s world it’s easy to stay “busy” with the demands of work, life and family, yet few men feel truly “connected” with other men in Christian fellowship and friendship. God’s word encourages deep and lasting friendships in the body of Christ, both for men and women. The goal of the Northwood Men's Ministry is to encourage and help men grow and build vital relationships with God, family, and each other.
At Northwood, there are many ways for men to have their “iron sharpened”, including:
- Morning and evening Bible studies, prayer and fellowship groups and one on one discipleship and mentoring;
- Service opportunities like work days, repairing cars for in need families and teaching;
- Sports ministries such as softball, basketball and soccer leagues;
- Retreats, prayer breakfasts, father/child events and other special activities.
Northwood’s Men's Ministry seeks to encourage men to use their gifts in service to Christ out of a heart of love for God in the home, the workplace, the church, and the community. As a result men will increase in the development of Godly characteristics like integrity, servant-leadership and influence.

"Two are better off than one…If one of them falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it's just too bad, because there is no one there to help him…Two men can resist an attack that would defeat one man alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break". Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12 (GN)
