PURPOSE 
The purpose of Northwood Church is to help people believe in Jesus Christ and become more like him.
VALUES
Loving
Northwood Church is people – people who love God and each other. We want to love God above all else and love our neighbors as ourselves. We want to express the love of God in tangible and personal ways toward the hurting among us and around us. Because love is the distinguishing mark of the Christian we want all our relationships to reflect the love of Jesus Christ.
Worshipping
Northwood Church is people who love God and delight to express our love for him in worship together. We sing, pray, give, praise and adore the God who made us and sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us so we can know God and live with him forever. We bow our heads, hearts and whole lives to God and exalt the name of Jesus – the name that is above every name.
Learning
Northwood Church is people who are learning what it means to follow Jesus Christ. We study the Bible to learn more about God and how to honor him. We pray because it deepens intimacy with God. We personally and corporately follow Jesus Christ because he said, “Follow me.” We submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit because the Bible tells us to “keep in step with the Spirit.” We strive and discipline ourselves to become more like Jesus Christ because true learning results in transformation – transformation that God uses to touch and transform others.
Outreaching
Northwood Church is people who love their neighbors, meet their needs, and bring them the good news about Jesus Christ. We are convinced Jesus is the hope of the world so we want to use creative, compelling and compassionate ways to share his love and message with people here, there and everywhere. We believe God has blessed us to be a blessing to others so we want to use our resources to meet needs.
STRATEGIES
1. Utilize Northwooders as the primary outreach means of Northwood Church.
2. Mobilize and equip Northwooders to minister within their neighborhoods (home and workplace).
3. Develop ministry partnerships that help us do our part to reach the world for Jesus Christ and serve people in need.
4. Follow godly servant leaders.
5. Pursue biblical community through multiple means.
6. Use small groups to reach people, disciple believers and care for people’s needs.
7. Use the creative arts to help people discover God and worship Him.
8. Make prayer a priority.
9. Teach the Bible for transformation in all ministry areas.
10. Disciple children and youth and equip them to share their faith with others.
11. Help believers discern and develop their spiritual gifts.
